I'm Jessi. This is my personal blog most notably ruled by comics, film, horror/cult, sci-fi, fantasy, Devils hockey and peculiarities. I also post about my puppy a lot so get used to that. George Carlin is my God. John Waters is my Jesus.

Now Watching: Tomb of Ligeia

Vincent Price has acted just about every Edgar Allan Poe story worth reading. My personal favorite is The Fall of the House of Usher, but that’s neither here nor there. The Tomb of Ligeia is one of several Corman/Price pairings, and while it’s not my favorite it’s certainly worth watching. Poor Verden Fell (Price) is one of Poe’s few characters not too afflicted by madness or depression to actually try and better his life. He tries to move on after his beloved Ligeia dies—he even remarries! But Ligeia has to make things difficult for him by manifesting herself into the body of a black cat and cockblocking him left and right. The film is moody, atmospheric and quite beautiful to look at.
And, I mean, it’s Vincent Price. Obviously watch it.
